How can I find log files

Answer

While working BlindScanner creates protocol and writes it to the file on the disk.

Sometimes, when you are contacting support, we ask you to send the log files. To find the log files look in the appropriate directory, depending on the installation type.

On the server:

Starting from versions Standard 2.7 and Pro 3.13

  • If BlindScanner Server installed as service: c:\ProgramData\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Server\BlindScannerService.log
  • If BlindScanner Server installed as executable application: c:\ProgramData\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Server\BlindScannerServer.log

For versions older than Standard 2.7 и Pro 3.13

  • If BlindScanner Server installed as service: system temporary directory (for example C:\Windows\Temp\BlindScannerSvcServer.log)
  • If BlindScanner Server installed as executable application: user's temporary directory  (for example c:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp\BlindScannerServer.log)

On the client:

For BlindScanner Standard (2.7 and newer): Common appdata

  • Windows XP c:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Standard\BlindScannerClient.log
  • Windows Vista, 7 c:\ProgramData\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Standard\BlindScannerClient.log

For BlindScanner Standard (older than 2.7): user's temporary directory (for example c:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp\BlindScannerClient.log)

For BlindScanner Pro (3.14 and newer):

  • Windows XP c:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Pro\BlindScannerProClient.log
  • Windows Vista, 7 c:\ProgramData\Masters ITC\BlindScanner Pro\BlindScannerProClient.log

For older versions of the BlindScanner Pro - user's temporary directory (example c:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp\BlindScanner_Pro_Client.log)
